Alfred and Shari Tie the Knot - Friday, March 07, 2008

From a UPI Feed...

Gilbert, AZ - With the paparazzi hovering overhead in helicopters and fans clamoring to get into the Portico in Gilbert, Arizona, Shari Starks (Radiobox Manager) and Alfred Trujillo (Guitartist, Songwriter) were wed in a quiet ceremony attended by close friends and family.

Former Radiobox bassist, Bruce Goode, who was thought to have died in a bizarre gardening accident, was on hand to play solo guitar pieces during the ceremony. Current Radiobox bassist, Jim Carr, was heard to mutter, "that's right, Brucey, stick to the guitar. Let the real men handle the low end." Mikie Engelhardt, Radibox lead singer, was also muttering to himself most of the night - something about "where's my drink?" according to other guests.

After the ceremony, Hans Homberg, Radiobox Drummer, was chased by a group of excited and most likely horny women attracted to his rock star look (jeans, and "awesome" curly hair). Coming to his rescue was his girlfriend, Nastasia, who told the unruly mob, "Go away. He's mine." and then promptly proceeded to pass out. Friend of the band, Nish (aka Malibu Rum) tried to give her mouth to mouth, which is likely to be what caused her to pass out in the first place.

Alfred and Shari are currently on their honeymoon, a cruise down to Mexico. To save money it's a cruise for gay senior citizens hosted by former Love Boat star, Gavin Macleod (aka Captain Stubing). Apparently Shari was crushed to learn he was gay, but blushed slightly upon learning that Love Boat cruise director, Julie McCoy, played by the still sexy Lauren Tewes, would be on board. In response Alfred raised one eyebrow and held up three fingers.

Radibox activities should resume upon their return.

P.F. Chang's Marathon - Sunday, January 27, 2008

I know! I know. This post is a little late. Lots going on lately. Sorry for the delay!

A big shoutout to all who saw us at the P.F. Chang's Rock and Roll Marathon. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did. It was a great way to spend our day. We'll definitely be there next year again (we've only missed one due to basslessness). We'll add the pictures from that day very soon. To the right is one I found on azcentral.com. I know; I'm such a stud!! Definitely don't need help with my Mojo. Hehe.

More live gigs will be added to our calendar very soon, so don't fret! You will have a good dose of Radiobox with new and polished material very, very soon!

Also, look make sure you buy our debut album Severance. Say it again, Severance. I know, I think it sounds good too!! It's available at Snocap and Napster now and at iTunes and a few other stores in a couple weeks. We'll see about getting some hard copies to sell too, but we know it's all about online music these days. You can buy it from the site in the Media Section of the site.

Last but not least, we want to give a big thanks to Entertainment Solutions for being such a great company to work with. You're the best, E.S!

Hey everyone! We have a pretty exciting show coming up!! Where? Well, I'm glad you asked. It's going to be at Trax in Tempe, which is a pretty new place and an awesome venue for music. It's close to Mill Avenue and Rio Salado. You can see a map here: MAP.

The date for the show is November 14th and it's going to be a great 3 hours of Radiobox music and onstage antics. Feel free to discuss in our forum. Here's a flyer for the show:

Sugar Daddy's November 6th - Cancelled - Wednesday, November 07, 2007

Hey, everyone. Unfortunately, the show at Sugar Daddy's on  November 6th has been cancelled. Sugar Daddy's is aparently not doing their Music Showcase/Battle of the Bands anymore. Thanks to everyone that was planning on going. We hope to see you all at Trax on November 14. Bring a change of pants for that one; it's going to be THAT much fun.

Alice Cooper's Town - Pudding Competition - Wednesday, November 07, 2007

Radiobox will be competing for a spot in Alice Cooper's Christmas Pudding show. The competition, dubbed The Proof is in the Pudding, is amongst 30+ local bands and it will be a great way to see Radiobox AND check out other local talent. Radiobox will be performing on November 7th sometime between 6:45 and 10pm at Alice Cooper's Town.

FYI, Alice Cooper is raising everything from the actual concert (which will be December 15th) to build The Rock Teen Center. The concert will include performances from Alice Cooper and his band as well as Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, just image adding Radiobox to that bill!

Come show your support and have a great time. Our understanding is that there is no cover charge for this event and it's All Ages, so you can have your mom drop you off at the corner and come hang out with the cool kids.

We will be playing that night with 4th Man in a Fire, Aimless, Karnage, Nomada, Psychedelic Mooj, Split the Enemy, The Foxfire Experiment and The Vigilantes. Good luck to everyone and we'll try to keep it fair ;)

New Pictures - Wednesday, November 07, 2007

Thanks, Desert Vista Studios!! - Tuesday, October 16, 2007

We decided to check out the open jam over at Desert Vista Studios. As you can see, we had a pretty good time! Mikie got to play with a wireless mic, Jim got a real "kick" out of it, and Alfred got to endorse Crest White Strips. Hans stayed home. Poor wittle baby was sicky-wicky. Big thanks to everyone there for the pizza and drinks!

Radiobox Wallpaper - Saturday, October 13, 2007

I know what *I* always wanted the most growing up was some totally cool Radiobox wallpaper to put as my background. Now, after years of waiting, it's finally here! You would think that waiting years to get it might make it not seem as cool since I had to put up with the frustration of not having it, but you know what, no. It's sooo cool that I don't care.

There are two choices right now: 1024x768   and 800x600. FINE. Here's a 1600x1200 too. Enjoy.

Listen to Radiobox on Mix96.9 - Wednesday, October 10, 2007

Listen to our song "Underwater" on the Mix 96.9 website and help your friendly neighborhood Radiobox rise to the top of the charts! We're already doing well with over 200 listens in the first week and with your help we're going to go straight to the top!! No, we're not going to forget you when we're rich. It's not like we're doing this for the money (it's for the fame and power mwahaha). Although it would be really awesome to not have to 'work' for a living. Maybe have a private jet and some really sweet nunchucks. "Feel my fury!!"

Anyway, thanks again for all your support and we hope you enjoy the song.

What I Say To Me - Video - Tuesday, October 09, 2007

Radiobox at Jobing w/ Hootie & the Blowfish? - Wednesday, October 03, 2007

Thanks for all that voted for us and supported us. Congratulations to the winners of the Rock Star Competition.

We don't actually know who won, thought I was personally rooting for You Hang Up. Like the name. Like the sound. Will definitely catch one of their shows one of these days.

Hope whoever plays with Hootie has fun :)

AZ Songwriters Contest - Monday, September 03, 2007

Radiobox participated in the Arizona Songwriters Contest back on August 25th. It really wasn't a contest - more like an exhibition. And you know what exhibitionists the guys can be! In fact you can see for yourself.

Check out
Mikie and Alfred on YouTube performing "The First Time".

Hungarian Fan Club at Alice Cooperstown - Friday, August 17, 2007

Hungaribox Ignacz Berni, president of the Official Radiobox Fan Club of Hungary, flew all the way from the small village of Ocseny, Hungary, to see Radiobox perform live at Alice Cooperstown. Sporting a spiffy Radiobox tank top Berni said, "You guys were great. And I'm not just saying that because you gave me a free shirt."

Or at least that's what we think she said. She's a bit shy when speaking English, but she understands most of what she hears. And what she heard last night was a great performance by your favorite band. Truth be told she'd seen a few other performances as well, but those were acoustic shows. This was her first chance to see Radiobox go electric. Needless to say she was suitably impressed.
